Marcy believes yoga is the practice of embracing the flow of our true self, and affirming that we always have a choice to either reinforce our conditioning or transform, grow and be who we were born to be.
Committed to empowering others with her intuitive, authentic teaching, Marcy offers artful vinyasa sequences, mantra, pranayama and spontaneous movement to unite mind, body and spirit. Her vinyasa flow classes integrate breath with movement, form and flow, and strength with deep relaxation. Through intelligent sequences, self-inquiry and metaphors she guides students through a transformational experience toward a state of peace and balance.
Through years of dedicated yoga practice, she has awakened her intuitive and empathetic abilities. This awareness led her ultimately be her own guide through a time of depression and anxiety to the freedom of self-empowerment. She believes the intelligence of the body, wisdom of the heart and power of our thoughts are the best guides in changing our inner and outer experiences.
Marcy has been practicing yoga since 2001. She has spent 300+ hours training and assisting with master yogini, Shiva Rea since 2007 and received 200 hour Prana Flow Certification. She is influenced by many forms of yoga and teachers including Micheline Berry and Christina Sell. Her offerings are deeply rooted with her teachers and yoga philosophy but her inspiration for theme and metaphor in the classroom comes from nature, from life experience, and her relationships. When not practicing yoga you will find her dancing, playing with her daughter, traveling, surfing, SUP-ing, running, and tending her urban garden.
