Don is a native of California with strong ties to the Hawaiian Islands. He has spent the last 18 years trying to become an Idaho native. Yoga has been a long strange trip for Don – with over 25 years in the high tech industry exercise has been a refuge from the stress. Don sought out yoga as a means of bringing increased flexibility to his body and mind. What he discovered after his very first yoga class was a state of being he calls the “yoga buzz” It was a state of being where his body and mind came together filled with peace and ease. He was hooked. Don has studied many styles of yoga – Bikram, Ashtanga, Anusara, Vinyasa and Power Yoga. He has studied with many master teachers to improve his practiceand teaching.

In the early parts of his teaching career he concentrated on the teachings of D’ana Baptiste and Bryan Kest in the Power Yoga linage. In December 2006 Don completed a 550+ hour teacher training to become a certified instructor through the D’ana Baptiste Centered City Yoga Certification program (InBody Academy) in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Always looking to expand his knowledge of yoga he recently graduated from the Shanti Yoga School’s 200 hour program to become Yoga Alliance certified instructor and is on the path to graduation of the 500 hour program.  He has also completed the YinYasa module of the H3 teacher’s training and has begun teaching  Yin Yoga a more quiet meditative practice to go along with his popular Power Flow classes making him a more well-rounded teacher and to give more to his students as they find their yoga path.

Don has been teaching yoga throughout the Treasure Valley for over 7 years. His teaching style is direct yet playful, infused with humor, working on not just the body but the mind and spirit as well, helping his students find their place in the postures.

He believes that Yoga is fun…so smile, laugh, breathe and know all is coming! Not a bad deal huh?
